Last week's enzyme lab

This is a photo of a KMnO4 titration, similar to what we did.
I think our enzyme lab went quite well. Although we did have a few issues with the base lines on the first day, everything eventually got smoothed out. I also appreciate being in chemistry right now, because doing lab work seemed just a little bit more familiar. Our group we had for our lab was great too-we all work together great. We're planning on being in the same group for other labs as well, and already have a rotation system for who is going to do what on the lab reports. This rotation system will let us all become familiar with doing every part of a lab, while doing only 1/3 the work for each lab each time. I'm excited for the next lab in biology class, but also hope we do well on the lab write-up.

Interests & Concerns

In biology class, I'd have to say that I'm most excited to learn about plants. I love learning more about plants and trees. Although I know a lot about them already, I'm ready to learn more about how they really work, and how molecules and chemicals make them what they are. As far as concerns, the only thing I'm slightly concerned about is learning about the human body, because -and it's kind of a freak thing- is that I feel a little queasy sometimes learning about stuff like eyes, blood, and other stuff that has to do with the human body. It's for sure interesting, but something about that stuff makes me get like that sometimes. But this isn't a big deal either, because usually just getting up for a drink of water does the trick.

February 1

Hi, I'm Andrew, and I attend Sparta High School. This year, my first hour class is AP Biology, and this will be my personal blog for the class. One of the main reasons I am enrolled in this class is because my top career choices involve biology. As of right now, I would like to study forestry in college. Because this is a natural resource science, I know biology goes right along with this. Not only that, but I also hope this will give me a better idea of what a college class is like. I hope I will be able to walk away from this class having much deeper knowledge in the subject of biology.
